The Eratosthenes Experiment, an activity supported by the European project DiSTARS and implemented in DiSTARS schools, was organized on the 22nd of March 2021 by Ellinogermaniki Agogi. The event received a great response, as 254 schools from 39 countries all over the world participated in this celebration of science and education, calculating the circumference of the Earth by using eLearning educational tools and simple instruments.
In addition to the experiment a photo contest was launched (entries submitted until April 21st) for teachers with more than 40 participants. The winning photo was that of Ms. Li Guangli from Shiyan Senior High School (II) in the city of Daqing in China.
